Inverse Problems in Applied Sciences - towards breakthrough
In this talk a new meshless and integration-free numerical scheme for solving an inverse heatconduction problem will be discussed. The numerical scheme is developed based on the use of the fundamentalsolution as a radial basis function. To regularize the resultant ill-conditioned linear system of equations, weapply successfully both the Tikhonov regularization technique and the L-cu...
متن کاملglobal results on some nonlinear partial differential equations for direct and inverse problems
A New Inexact Inverse Subspace Iteration for Generalized Eigenvalue Problems
In this paper, we represent an inexact inverse subspace iteration method for computing a few eigenpairs of the generalized eigenvalue problem Ax = Bx [Q. Ye and P. Zhang, Inexact inverse subspace iteration for generalized eigenvalue problems, Linear Algebra and its Application, 434 (2011) 1697-1715 ]. In particular, the linear convergence property of the inverse subspace iteration is preserved.
متن کاملA Survey of Inverse Rendering Problems
Inverse rendering problems usually represent extremely complex and costly processes, but their importance in many research areas is well known. In particular, they are of extreme importance in lighting engineering, where potentially costly mistakes usually make it unfeasible to test design decisions on a model. In this survey we present the main ideas behind these kinds of problems, characteriz...
متن کاملInverse Combinatorial Optimization: A Survey on Problems, Methods, and Results
Given a (combinatorial) optimization problem and a feasible solution to it, the corresponding inverse optimization problem is to find a minimal adjustment of the cost function such that the given solution becomes optimum. Several such problems have been studied in the last ten years. After formalizing the notion of an inverse problem and its variants, we present various methods for solving them...
